The story
It is no surprise that the world's most widespread varieties have found excellent expression at Casa Sola too. Since 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, known and loved for their powerful fruit and soft tannins, meet Sangiovese in Montarsiccio, the vineyard that gives the wine its name.
It is our Supertuscan: outside the Chianti Classico regulations, with the stylistic freedom these wines have claimed in Tuscany since the 1970s, but with the same soil and the same hands.
The varieties ferment separately and come together after ageing in wood, before bottling. The result is a red with deep aromas and a velvety structure, a soft tannin that calls for red meat, spiced dishes and dark chocolate. It is also the wine of our vertical tastings: five vintages compared with the winemaker, at the winery.
